Ontario is investing $121 million across 236 projects to support newcomers, including: $32.4 million to support 131 projects under the Newcomer Settlement Program, $15 million to support 30 new language training projects as part of the Adult Non-Credit ESL/FSL Training Program, and $74 million to support 75 Ontario Bridge Training program projects.
In 2016, Ontario received 110,014 immigrants, which is 37.1 per cent of all immigrants to Canada.
The federal government has set overall national landings targets of 310,000 immigrants for 2018, 330,000 for 2019 and 340,000 for 2020.
